On the 12th of April, Tishk International University held a festival for Science, Culture and Language within its campus in Erbil, Kurdistan Region. It was opened by the Head of Board of Trustees, Dr. Idris Hadi, the Dean of Engineering Faculty, Dr. Halit Vural and the Head of Architecture Department, Ms. Soma Manmi.

Department of Architecture had its own pavilion to present its part at the science fair. The architectural pavilion showcased the works of its students that had been working on the showcased works for a duration of 10 days.

The plan for the Department of Architecture section within the fair was to involve all the students of the department to take part in to showcasing their works and cooperation as a team. So smaller groups of students were selected to volunteer and work for the pavilion’s preparation ten days before the big day.

The architectural section within the fair was headed and supervised by the research assistant, Delovan DelawerThe product of the department was showcasing two huge artistic panoramas of Erbil skyline that was done by the students of the third and fourth year which was supervised by Ms. Mardin Faisal, a maquette model of the ancient citadel of Erbil that was done by the second year students and supervised by Mr. Younus Ali and Mr. Abdulrazaq Zamil, and also an architectural quiz model that was prepared by the first year students that was supervised by Mrs. Sanar Sardar.

The architectural pavilion stood out among the other pavilions in IU festival and impressed the visitors as they toured around the Festival’s distinct sections.
