Alumni Invitation On November 10th, 2022, the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University and the Dean of Students organised an alumni gathering for graduates of the department. The graduates and staff enjoyed spending time with each other and meeting once again since graduation. The Head of the Architectural Engineering Department, Ms. Shino Abdulla, delivered a speech to all attendees, highlighting the importance of maintaining relationships between the university and graduates. Top Three Students Awarding Ceremony On December 5th, 2022, the Architectural Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University organised an awards ceremony for the top 3 students in every stage. The ceremony was opened by Ms. Fatima Omar, Research Assistant in the Architectural Engineering Department, followed by a speech delivered by Mr. No’man Al Bayaty, Lecturer in the Architectural Engineering Department, who took the stage to welcome the attendees and congratulated students on their significant achievements. Social Community Projects and Clubs Introduction On October 9th, Tishk International University held social community projects and clubs introduction for the students. The aim was to introduce the students and staff to the clubs and social community projects managed and implemented by each department at the university. During this introductory event, a food fundraising was organised to collect money for charity. AWARD CEREMONY FOR TIU MAIN GATE DESIGN COMPETITION Tishk International University, Faculty of Engineering Faculty, Architecture Department hosted the TIU Main Gate Design Competition. This competition was held under the supervision of Dr. Faith Cura, Vice President, and the Architecture Department. This competition was announced in June 2022 and lasted until October 2022 with 11 participants. Three participants are Research Assistants from the Architectural Engineering Department, and eight are students and graduates. Solar Architecture Seminar On November 2nd, 2022, the Architectural Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University, organised an internal seminar titled: Solar Architecture, presented by Mr. Nawaz Dabbagh. The seminar discussed various solar architecture approaches and how the different types work together. The seminar introduced a case study that explained how solar energy was used and implemented in the building and discussed how it provides a new lifestyle that can be economically and environmentally beneficial in the long run.
