On 11th October 2017, at 9:30 AM, the head of architecture department Ms. Soma A. Kareem,the lecturers Mr.Azad A. Barzinji and Mr.Nawaz Dabbagh, and the assistant Ms. Farah Maysan accompanied the third year students on their scientific trip to Koya.

During the trip, students were arranged as groups and they were handed the drawings of the site of their current design project, that would be a Touristic City, in which they learn how the urban planning of Koya actually works.

During being shown around by the site owner, instructions were given to the students and also a lot of Q&A went on while he explained the historical background of the different parts of the land.

At the end of all this, the students and staff were invited for a delicious lunch that was hosted by the owner of the land and his wife, as a generous gesture that the people of Koya are well-known for.

The trip ended at 07:00 PM, as everyone got to Erbil safely, knowing that the purpose behind the site visit and how to propose projects on a sloped site witch is not available in the plane of Erbil city.
