First Training Session of 11 Oil Field Engineers Was Completed at TIU

A Memorandum of Understanding MOU was previously signed between Tishk International University TIU and Entrac Petroleum Ltd EPL, based in London, which is a well-known consultancy and training provider for the oil industry. According to this MOU, the first training session entitled “IWCF and IADC/Well Control” has taken place at the premises of Tishk International University (TIU) during the week starting on 24.4.2021 until 29.4.2021, and was completed successfully. Seven Participants from Tishk International University Staff members and Eleven participants from different oil companies which are working in different oil fields in Kurdistan Region have joined this training course. National Workshop: Logging While Drilling Implementations for Reservoir Characterization: A case study by Techlog Software

The Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering organized a national workshop entitled “Logging While Drilling Implementations for Reservoir Characterization: A case study by Techlog Software”. The workshop dealt with the measurement of formation parameters in real-time during drilling the borehole. The objective of the workshop was to cover both the engineering and geological aspects of logging while drilling. Qarachugh Cement Factory Field Trip

A scientific field trip was arranged by petroleum and mining engineering department to Qarachugh Cement Plant/ Kar Group on 9th March 2021 for the students enrolled in the Mining Engineering course module. The trip was supervised by Professor, Dr. Hamed M. Jassim. The field trip was in connection with the Mining Engineering lectures. The first activity was a visit to the quarry which extracts raw materials for cement production.
