National Workshop:

Title: Petroleum system modeling and volumetric calculation of generated hydrocarbon

The Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering will organize a national workshop under the theme Petroleum system modeling and volumetric calculation of generated hydrocarbon’. The workshop will be conducted in two sessions:

First session: PETROLEUM SYSTEM MODELING OF AKRI-BIJEEL OIL FIELD, NORTHERN IRAQ: INSIGHTS FROM ID BASIN MODELING

Second session: VOLUMETRIC CALCULATION OF GENERATED HYDROCARBON FROM THE SARGELU FORMATION IN KURDISTAN REGION, IRAQ

This workshop will deal with the elements of the petroleum system of Bekhme-1 Well in Bekhme-Bijeel Oilfield. The time of generation, migration, and accumulation of petroleum will be explained during the presentation. Additionally, the workshop will also discuss the amount of hydrocarbon generated from Sargelu Formation in Kurdistan Region, Iraq.

The workshop is intended for the academic staff of TIU and fourth stage students of the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department. Dr. Rzger Abdulkarim Abdula, Lecturer at Soran University, will present the seminar. Dr. Rzger has long time experience in the field of Petroleum Geology with many publications in that area.

The workshop will take place at the Tishk International University (TIU), in Erbil on Wednesday, 31.03.2021 at 3 PM.
