Tishk International University’s 5th National Innovations Competition in Engineering (NICE2019) was held on Sunday, May 05, 2019, under the theme of “Targeting Smart Sustainable Innovations.” The aim of the competition is to gather students, supervisors, practitioners, educators, students of Architecture Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Interior Design, Mechatronic Engineering, Petroleum and mining Engineering and Surveying and Geomantic Engineering with interests in smart Sustainable innovations at all levels from around universities of Kurdistan region and Iraq. In aims of providing a platform for the Computer Engineering department students to improve and demonstrate their problem solving and programming skills, the department hosted the 1st “Blind Coding Challenge” coding competition annually among its undergraduate students on Thursday, May 2nd, 2019 in Programming Lab #241 with the participation of 24 students. The department of Computer Engineering and in collaboration with the Mechatronics Department, have organized a workshop on MATLAB: Simscape on Sunday, April 28th, 2019 and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) on Monday, April 29th, 2019 in Tishk International University. The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Ezideen Hasso from Duhok Polytechnic University. The MATLAB workshop, held on Sunday, focused on covering a wide range of topics in each session. On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, the 4th International Festival of Language, Culture and Science was held at the campus of Tishk International University with the participation of general consulates, parliament members, parents, students, staff and guests. The department of Computer Engineering will be organizing a workshop on MATLAB: Simscape on Sunday, April 28th, 2019 in Tishk International University. Since its inception, MATLAB package has concentrated on simplicity and ease of use in order to make programming and computation processes reachable to science and engineering community and indeed others fields too. The department of Computer Engineering is immensely pleased to announce that the department’s Bachelor degree study program has been internationally accredited by the “Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency Hannover” (ZEvA) Commission without any conditions for the duration of five years.
