The department of Computer Engineering have organized an orientation program for their newly enrolled first grade students on Wednesday, December 19th, 2021 in hall #301 in Tishk International University’s Main Building. The program started with a short yet informative presentation by the Dean of Students representative, Ms. Nooran Sdiq, in which their activities, events and clubs were briefly covered. On Thursday, 25th of November, 2021, the department of Computer Engineering, in partnership with High Smart company, have organized a scientific trip for the department's senior year students to High Smart company’s Erbil office, to expose the students to the processes of designing and implementing a smart house in aims of creating a good starting ground for the students' potential to launch a career in IoT. Tishk International University have joined forces with the University of Emerging Technologies, which is an online university aimed at providing certification courses (micro/nano degrees) and internship programs for its students, and is now offering a variety of courses ranging from Artificial Intelligence, Data Sciences, Mobile Application Development and many other courses at a discounted rate for our university and specifically our department students who are interested in enrolling in their courses. The department of Computer Engineering have signed an agreement with the Wind River University Program which is aimed at providing the faculty and students to use state-of-the-art operating systems platforms, middleware, and development tools to enrich their research efforts and teaching courses to foster advances in embedded technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT). Battle against the clock and other students and showcase your programming skills in the 2nd Blind Coding Challenge (BCC2021). Hash Code is a team-based programming competition, organized by Google, for students and professionals around the world. Participants pick their team and programming language and Google picks an engineering problem for them to solve. The Department of Computer Engineering, has organized a workshop entitled “5G Implementation Challenges in Kurdistan & Iraq” during the 7th International Engineering Conference (IEC) on Thursday, February 25th, 2021 and was held virtually through 'Run the World' video conferencing platform. The workshop was presented by Dr. Salar Kheder Shaikhah from Erbil Polytechnic University and Dr. Jamal A. Hassan from Salahaddin University. Yana Banking Service (YBS) in collaboration with the Department of Computer Engineering, organized a workshop entitled “From University to Corporate”, held on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021. The workshop was presented by Ms. Darsim Bakr, the Operations Manager at Yana Banking Service and TIU alumni of the IT Department. The workshop aimed to assist the senior year students in their job hunt and help them start planning for their future careers.
