On May 12th., 2022, Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department held a departmental seminar under the title of: “Engineers and Poetry”. During the time 14:00 – 16:00 In Hall 301 of the main building. This seminar dealt with the relationship between engineering and poetry and the requirements for composing a poem in addition to the characteristics of a good and effective poem. Students enjoyed a great field trip to Qarachuq On Thursday 11th November 2021, the Department of Petroleum & Mining Engineering at Tishk International University organized a field trip to Qarachuq Cement Plant (owned by KAR Group), for third-grade students. Academic Advising On October 17th, 2021, Dr. Fadhil Ali, Head of Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Hamed Jassim, Professor at Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department, held an academic advising session for fourth-grade students. Dr. Fadhil advised students on the rules and regulations of the university and discussed the duties and responsibilities of the students as senior students. Dr. Hamed explained the online platforms of the university (PIS/SIS, lecture notes, and university website), petition forms, study guides, methods to contact students’ academic advisors, and graduation projects.

First Training Session of 11 Oil Field Engineers Was Completed at TIU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was previously signed between Tishk International University TIU and Entrac Petroleum Ltd EPL: a well-known consultancy and petroleum training provider based in London. According to the MOU signed, the first training session entitled “IWCF and IADC/Well Control” took place at the premises of Tishk International University, on 25th April 2021 and was completed successfully. Eleven participants from different oil companies and fields in the Kurdistan Region joined the training course.
