Academic Advising On October 17th, 2021, Dr. Fadhil Ali, Head of Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Hamed Jassim, Professor at Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department, held an academic advising session for fourth-grade students. Dr. Fadhil advised students on the rules and regulations of the university and discussed the duties and responsibilities of the students as senior students. Dr. Hamed explained the online platforms of the university (PIS/SIS, lecture notes, and university website), petition forms, study guides, methods to contact students’ academic advisors, and graduation projects.

International Workshop

International Workshop Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department is going to arrange an international workshop titled “Application of reservoir management and production forecasting tools using IHS Harmony Software”. This workshop will focus on the theories and practical applications of Rate Transient Analysis, Decline Curve Analysis, Type Curve Methods for optimizing oil and gas production and enhancing reservoir management. During the workshop, IHS Harmony software will be demonstrated.  The workshop aims to show the petroleum engineering students and staff, one of the world’s most advanced and used petroleum engineering software.
