Environmental visit to Shex-Turab Area

In celebration of the 1st of May Labors Day by Tishk International University, groups of students of both 4th stage Architectural Engineering and Interior Design Departments alongside their coaching staff, organized a very stimulating environmental trip to the mountains of Kurdistan, a place called Shaikh -Turab. At the site, many activities were done by the students and the faculty staff, such as mountaineering, walking, football gaming, and volleyball as well. Prof Dr. Azad Hama, Head of Architecture Department, delivered a seminar in the Engineering Faculty at Tishk International University, under the title "The Dubaization of Erbil: Is it an accomplished dream?”, presented on April 30th, 2018.   The seminar talked about the city of Erbil; it demonstrated the historical aspect (its citadel) of the city as a very ancient city in the world, and how following the modernization process, the city has lost its architectural identity. Dr Azad Hama Shekhany the Head of Architecture Department, Engineering faculty at Tishk International University, has won a prize of 2019 award for an Individual piece of art for his work ‘The Ship Of Diversity'. This is from Azad's series 'Ship'. This Series reflects the many peoples now 'adrift' in the world. On 17th of October 2018, the lecturers of Architectural Design Studio V (Azad Ahmed, Nawaz Dabbagh and Soma Abdulkareem ) with the assistants (Hema Hewa, Rozhan Taha, and Tara Fadhel), took the third stage students of Architecture Dept. Tishk International University to Dream City residential area in Erbil city Inorder to select a suitable site for the Architectural Design Studio V course project.
