The Department of Petroleum & Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University organized a field trip along the road from Erbil City to Shaqlawa Town on May 18th, 2022. Departmental staff and 17 students of first grade participated in the trip. The trip was to show students the geological features which are present on both sides of the road. The area between Erbil City and Shaqlawa district involves many important geological structures such as anticlines, synclines, faults, joints and many other structures. Students enjoyed a great field trip to Qarachuq On Thursday 11th November 2021, the Department of Petroleum & Mining Engineering at Tishk International University organized a field trip to Qarachuq Cement Plant (owned by KAR Group), for third-grade students. Academic Advising On October 17th, 2021, Dr. Fadhil Ali, Head of Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Hamed Jassim, Professor at Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department, held an academic advising session for fourth-grade students. Dr. Fadhil advised students on the rules and regulations of the university and discussed the duties and responsibilities of the students as senior students. Dr. Hamed explained the online platforms of the university (PIS/SIS, lecture notes, and university website), petition forms, study guides, methods to contact students’ academic advisors, and graduation projects.
