The Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU) is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SpaceNet Company for Information Technology on April 30, 2025. This agreement marks a significant step towards enhancing students’ practical skills and career readiness.
The MoU was officially signed by Dr. Safwan Mawlood, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Mr. Aryan Hamid Ismael, CEO and Founder of SpaceNet. Also in attendance were Mr. Mousa M. Amin, Head of the Computer Engineering Department, and Mr. Dylan, a representative from SpaceNet.
Free Technology Training Courses
This partnership will provide a series of free, in-person introductory training courses in key technological fields, including:
- Network Engineering
- Cybersecurity
- Cloud Computing
- Software Development
- AI
- Graphic and UI/UX Design
These two-day, two-hour-per-day sessions are designed to bridge the gap between academic education and industry needs.
Collaboration Details
Under the agreement:
- SpaceNet will provide experienced instructors and training materials.
- TIU will facilitate the venue, student registration, and promotional efforts.
While these initial courses will not offer formal certification, there are plans for future editions to include accredited recognition, advanced training, and opportunities for internships and research collaborations.
Both Dr. Safwan Mawlood and Mr. Mousa M. Amin emphasized the importance of such industry-academia collaborations in providing students with practical skills and early exposure to emerging technologies in the digital economy.
