Less formal than a class lecture, a seminar allows for small groups to meet and discuss academic topics or required reading, as well as set goals for research and continuing investigation.

The following seminar was conducted on Thursday 02-12-2021 at 3:00 PM by Dr. Mohamad Aldabagh , a Lecturer at the computer engineering department.

seminar abstract:

Virtual screening (VS) is a computational practice applied in drug discovery research. VS is popularly applied in a computer-based search for new lead molecules based on molecular similarity searching. Similarity searching is one of the most widely used techniques for ligand-based virtual screening. Several methods have been used to further optimize the measures of similarity between molecules, including quantum-based, data fusion and machine learning. In this seminar, we explained how quantum theory can be adapted to use as similarity methods in ligand-based screening.
