The Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU), organized an orientation program for newly enrolled first-grade students for the 2025–2026 academic year on December 2nd, 2025 at 10:00 AM.

The program began with a concise and informative welcoming speech by the Head of Department, Mr. Mousa M Amin, who presented an overview of the department’s history, mission, and vision, as well as its facilities and the social and scientific activities regularly conducted throughout each academic year. The international accreditation awarded to the department was also highlighted, emphasizing its academic quality and recognition.

In addition, the significance of pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering was discussed, particularly in terms of the broad range of career opportunities available to graduates. The curriculum structure was thoroughly explained, along with the university’s and department’s rules and regulations, academic advising system, departmental webpage, and GPA calculation process.

The program concluded with a guided tour led by the department’s Research Assistants (Ms. Shayda Khalid, Ms. Shari Shakhawan, and Mr. Aland Ameer), during which first-grade students were introduced to the department, main building facilities, lecture halls, library, Dean Of Student unit, cafeteria, and laboratories.
