The department of Computer Engineering will be organizing a national workshop on “5G Implementation Challenges in Kurdistan & Iraq during the 7th International Engineering Conference (IEC), scheduled to be held on 25th of February, 2021 in Tishk International University’s Main Building, Room 201 from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM.

The distinguished workshop speakers will be:

  • Dr. Salar Kheder Shaikhah: Dr. Shaikhah received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Engineering College) from Salahaddin University-Hawler, Kurdistan-Iraq in 2007, 2010, and 2020 respectively. He has worked as a lecturer in Salahaddin University-Hawler, College of Engineering during 2010–2011. He has been an academic staff (lecturer) since 2011 in the Information System Engineering Department from Erbil Technical Engineering College, Erbil Polytechnic University, at Kurdistan-Iraq. His research field includes wireless communication, signal processing, mobile communication, networking, and 5G multicarrier and applications are his recent research interest. Additional to his experience as an academic, he is a telecommunication expert in 2G (GSM), 3G (WCDMA), and 4G (LTE) and holds more than twenty-five international technical certifications.
  • Dr. Jamal A. Hassan: Dr. Hassan received BSc and MSc and PhD in electrical engineering from the Electrical Engineering Department of Salahaddin University, Erbil, Iraq in 2001, 2019 and 2020. He is affiliated with the College of Engineering as an Assistant Lecturer. His research field is wireless communication and collaborative network in 4th and 5th generation mobile networks. His main technical expertise is the design and parameter tuning of the mobile networks including, 2G, 3G and 4G. Dr. Hassan’s research interest concerns cooperative spatial modulation and NOMA in 5G.
