The department of Computer Engineering will be organizing a workshop on the topic entitled: “Electric and Electronic Circuits Design and Aim in Conventional Electrical Systems and Instruments”, which will take place on Thursday, 12th of May, 2022 at 02:00 PM in Tishk International University’s Main Building, room #301.

The workshop will be presented by Dr. Bestoon Taha Mustafa, lecturer at Computer Engineering department in the Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University along with Dr. Goran Abdulrahman Mohammed, lecturer at the University of Koya, Faculty of Engineering.

Circuit design and repairment require a crystal understanding the similarities and differentiations between electric and electronic circuits. It is also a skill some people demand to own. Circuit design has a tremendous application in areas such as power electronics, Electrical systems, computers and other instruments. This workshop is designed to help students to comprehend the two terms, and enable to develop skills of electronic circuits.  During the workshop, participants will gain insights of circuit designing concepts.

The workshop sessions will delve into the following topics:

Session 1. Device Familiarization

  • Resistors: Effect on circuits, Types, Specifications
  • Capacitors: Effect on circuits, Types, Specifications
  • Inductors: Effect on circuits, Types, Specifications
  • Diodes: Working, Specifications
  • Transistors: Types, Specifications
  • Transformer: Types, Specifications

Session 2.  Circuit Design and comprehending electric and electronic circuits

  • Aims and basic differences of electric and electronic circuits.
  • Circuits laws.
  • Designing circuits.

The workshop is aimed at first and second grade students of Computer engineering department as well as the academic staff of the faculty.

The audience learning outcomes will include but not limited to the following:

  • Differentiate electric circuits and electronic circuits.
  • Design electric/electronic circuits – simple laboratory skill for beginners.
  • Improves skills of circuit design -upper grade students.
