The department of Computer Engineering has always been keen on promoting the integration of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience and in this regard, the department has organized a scientific trip to Koya University’s Process Control Laboratory on April, 23rd 2018, with the help and supervision of Mr. Safwan Mawlood, head of Computer Engineering department along with the contribution of Dr. Goran Abdulrahman, the lecturer of Control Systems at the department who both coordinated the trip.

The students of third and fourth grade of the department, accompanied by Dr. Gunter Senyurt, supervisor of third grade along with two research assistants: Mr. Mohammed Salam and Ms. Israa Nazhat, arrived at Koya University by 10:30 AM. The head of Software Engineering department, Mr. Peshawa Jammal welcomed the students upon their arrival and guided them to the auditorium where a brief introduction of the mission, vision and history of the department was given. Later on, the students of fourth grade had a lab session in Process Control laboratory where theory was put into practice and some of the control systems developed to control temperature and heat transfer apparatus were thoroughly explained.

Students of third grade on the other hand had a tour in the Software Engineering department building with Mr. Peshawa where they got to see the studying halls, laboratories and equipment used within the department.

To conclude a successful trip, the students of both grades along with their supervisors had a well-deserved break in the University park before returning to Tishk International University where they enjoyed the beautiful weather and took group photos to keep this wonderful day remembered.
