On February 28th, 2023, the Computer Engineering department of Tishk International University organized a charity event in collaboration with Nanakali Hospital to support cancer patients. The event aimed to raise funds and awareness about cancer and its impact on patients and their families. The event was well-attended by students, faculty, and members of the community.

The event kicked off with an opening statement from our speaker who went over the history of the charity project, followed by a speech from Ms Ghada Alsakkal, Lecturer at Tishk International University, and Mr. Jalal Mahmood, Head Of Nursing Department at Nanakali Hospital. The opening ceremony continued with a magician show that entertained the attendees with fascinating tricks and illusions.

After the show, students and cancer patients had an opportunity to unwind and have fun. They headed to the mall playground where they engaged in various games and activities.

The students also distributed gifts to the children who were patients in the hospital. This was an opportunity for the children to forget about their illness and enjoy themselves.

In addition to the games and gifts, a singing session was organized with all the children in attendance. The children sang along with the music, and the atmosphere was filled with joy and happiness. The event aimed to provide a fun and uplifting experience for cancer patients, especially children, who are often more vulnerable to the emotional impact of the disease

The event would not have been possible without the generous support of the main sponsors, Royal Mall and Macanolli Restaurant. Their contributions helped to cover the costs of organizing the event and ensured its success. The organizers expressed their gratitude to the sponsors for their support and commitment to making a difference in the lives of cancer patients.
Overall, the charity event organized by the Computer Engineering department and Nanakali Hospital was a huge success. It raised awareness about cancer and its impact on patients and their families, provided an opportunity for cancer patients, especially children, to have some fun and enjoy themselves, and helped raise funds to support cancer patients at the hospital. The organizers hope that this event will inspire others to get involved in supporting cancer patients and their families.
The event was a true demonstration of the power of community and the impact that a group of dedicated individuals can have when they come together for a common cause. The organizers thanked everyone who contributed to the event’s success, including the volunteers, donors, sponsors, and attendees. They expressed their hope that events like this would continue to bring hope and joy to those who need it most.
