On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Computer Engineering Department made a profound contribution to local healthcare by purchasing five advanced medical devices for Nanakali Hospital. This project was lead by Ms. Ghada Alssakal and Ms. Marwa Awni with the help of volunteering students from computer engineering department. This thoughtful initiative aims to directly support the hospital’s dedicated care for cancer patients. The devices donated are called Multiple Parameter Patient Monitors, each device features a 12.1-inch screen for easy bedside viewing. These machines are engineered to continuously track six vital medical parameters simultaneously. Medical staff will now have real-time, comprehensive data regarding a patient’s blood oxygen saturation (SPO2), pulse rate (PR), respiration rate (RESP), heart rhythm through a 5-Lead ECG, and core body temperature (TEMP).

The Computer Engineering Department recognizes that technical expertise reaches its highest purpose when it is used to uplift those facing their most difficult battles. For the children at Nanakali Hospital, every day is a testament to resilience, and we believe that no child should face the challenges of cancer without the full support of their community. Guided by the dedicated efforts and compassionate leadership of Ms. Marwa and Ms. Ghada, whose unwavering commitment to humanitarian work serves as our department’s heartbeat, we strive to bridge the gap between digital advancement and human healing. By providing these five devices, we aim to offer more than just hardware, we are offering tools for connection, education, and a reminder to these brave young patients and their families that they are never walking this path alone.

Our mission remains clear: to ensure that the power of engineering is always a force for kindness, reaching out to those in need with a helping hand and a hopeful heart. At the heart of any great academic institution lies a responsibility not just to innovate, but to serve.
