On April 23, 2025, Tishk International University (TIU) organized a charity event for the cancer patients of Nanakali Hospital. The event was a collaborative effort between the Computer Engineering Department, the Dean of Students (DoS) unit, and Nanakali Hospital, bringing together faculty, students, and hospital staff.

The initiative was spearheaded by Ms. Ghada Alsakkal, Ms. Marwa Awni, Mr. Garmyan Fuad, and Ms. Shayda Khalid, along with student volunteers from the Computer Engineering Department. Their dedication ensured a joyful experience for the young patients and their families.

Event Highlights and Significance

The event began with a welcoming musical performance and a warm lunch. The atmosphere became more lively with the appearance of costumed mascots, who brought laughter and cheer to the children. The highlight was the distribution of personalized gifts, which brought smiles to the faces of the young patients.

Several distinguished guests were in attendance, including the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean of the DoS unit, and the Head of the Nursery Department at Nanakali Hospital. Their presence underscored the university’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.

This event is part of the ongoing Nanakali Charity Project, an initiative started by the Computer Engineering Department in 2017 and held annually since then. TIU extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. Looking ahead, the university plans to involve more departments and student clubs in future charity initiatives, fostering a deeper culture of empathy and volunteerism.
