Less formal than a class lecture, a seminar allows for small groups to meet and discuss academic topics or required reading, as well as set goals for research and continuing investigation.
The following seminar was conducted on Wednesday 12-06-2024 at 11:30 AM by Dr. Yasir Hashim Naif, Lecturer, Department of Computer Engineering Computer.
Microelectronics and semiconductor industry is a subdivision of the field of electronics that deals with very small and microscopic elements to manufacture electronic components.
Microelectronics has been rapidly evolving as the most in-demand field of electronics because of the ever-increasing demand for inexpensive and lightweight equipment.
The semiconductor industry is facing a new era:
* Transistor scaling and cost reduction will not continue the same path they followed for the past few decades, with Moore’s law in its foundation
* Advanced technology nodes do not bring the desired cost benefit anymore and R&D investments in new lithography solutions and devices below 10 nm nodes are rising substantially
