Internal Seminar: Water Resource Problem in Iraq The Civil Engineering Department at Tishk International University periodically organizes internal seminars regarding the trending topics related to the department. On November 18th, 2021, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thamir Mohammed Ahmed presented a seminar entitled 'Water Resource Problem in Iraq', highlighting the water scarcity that Iraq is currently facing, although it is ranked as a rich country in water resources. The seminar identified the problem of why the supply rates are almost lower than the growth of demand rate and further discussed proposed solutions to the issues presented.

Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)- Review and Requirements. The Civil Engineering Department of Tishk International University organized a workshop to discuss the requirements of obtaining the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET). The purpose of the event was to review the latest research work on columns reinforced with fibers and has inscribed service hollows in sections. Research published in the Undergraduate Research Section of the ACI Spring Convention

It gives us great pride to announce that the research of Ms. Bnar Abubakir was published in the Undergraduate Research Section of the ACI Spring Convention. Ms. Bnar is a TIU Civil Engineering graduate and she is currently a Research Assistant at TIU Civil Engineering Department. The research was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Bayan Salim, Professor at TIU Civil Engineering Department. The research aimed at studying the durability of recycled concrete. Experiments were conducted at the TIU Civil Engineering Labs during the academic year 2019-2020. The results of this research are useful for concrete producers and manufacturers. [...]

The Department of Civil Engineering organized a seminar on February 15th, 2021, in Hall 302 for senior students. Azhdar Hussein, Head of Sales in Bina Group, presented the seminar, which discussed the preparations required for students to enter the construction industry after graduation. He also explained how to write a CV and highlighted the techniques that should be used to pass job interviews. Marshmallow Competition 2020 – 2021

February 22, 2021, as an activity and event from the Tishk International University (Civil Engineering Department) held a competition for students, which was titled as (Marshmallow Competition) that supervised by Tishk International University ACI Student Chapter. The competition was to increase the team working skills between the students and to let them think quickly to think about the behavior of the structures, also it was helpful to enable the students to see as a real model what have been studied. 7 groups of students participated in the competition. The top 3 groups were rewarded by a bag of marshmallows

FRC Balling-Ball Competition 2021

The TIU student chapter of ACI (American Concrete Institute) organized FRC Bowling Ball Competition in cooperation with ACI University of Salahadin Student Chapter and  ACI Iraq Chapter, this event was hold on March 08, 2021 at Tishk International University Erbil Campus. Ten teams of civil engineering students participated in the event. All the teams were come from Erbil Polytechnics University, Raparin University, Salahaddin University and Tishk International University. Teaching for Transformation On 18 February 2021, Civil Engineering Department at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a workshop on teaching for transformation in civil engineering department.
