Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)- Review and Requirements.

The Civil Engineering Department of Tishk International University organized a workshop to discuss the requirements of obtaining the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET). The purpose of the event was to review the latest research work on columns reinforced with fibers and has inscribed service hollows in sections. The workshop also intends to describe the up-to-date theoretical and experimental research methodologies at Texas State University TSU and aimed to prepare a TIU Program of Civil Engineering in order to successfully obtain the ABET Accreditation.

The workshop included the following sessions:

1st session:

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Steel Fiber R.C Hollow Columns under Eccentric Loading.

2nd session:

Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)- Review and Requirements.

The workshop was presented by Dr. RAAD AZZAWI, Ph.D., Peng Associate Professor, Civil Engineering Dept., Texas State University, Arlington, Texas, USA, and was attended by 17 professors, lecturers, and research assistants of the Faculty of Engineering of TIU, Salahaddin, Raparin, and Koya Universities, and Noble Institute.

The Civil Engineering Department at Tishk International University is the first department in Iraq and KRI that has been awarded international accreditation by ZeVa agency and also the first department that has established ACI TIU Student Chapter (American Concrete Institute Tishk International Student Chapter) and theses, facilitating and promoting employment in the construction industry for our graduates.
