The Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University organized a seminar entitled: “Call for 2023–2024 Applications Faculty for the Future Fellowships by Schlumberger Foundation”, held on September 29th, 2022. The introduction to the seminar was given by Ms. Suriya Shaffi, Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering. Ms. Sama Al-Mutawalli, PhD Candidate in Environmental Biotechnology at Istanbul Technical University, was the presenter of the seminar. She completed her BSc in Civil Engineering at Salahaddin University-Erbil (Iraq) and obtained MSc in Environmental Biotechnology from Istanbul Technical University. Bauhaus University Summer School Program for 2022 Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between TIU and Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, five fourth-stage students, supervised by Prof. Dr Najmadin, participated in the summer school program held in the partner university and organised by the Faculty of Civil Engineering, TIU. The program officially started on 20th August and will continue over the next two weeks. Through this, students will be introduced to new technologies in the civil engineering field, visit mega structures and constructions, and meet people, professors and engineers from different cultures.

The project took place from 20th April 2022 to 20th June 2022. The Structural & Construction Materials, Geotechnical, and Highway (Asphalt) Laboratories are to be utilised in testing materials for external construction projects. This project has been initiated by the Head of Department and supervised by a specialist team comprising academic staff. Students were supervised by Mr. Abdullah and Mr. Osama. The participating staff and students were welcomed by Mr. Salam who is responsible for the hydraulic structure of the dam.
