On Sunday, December the 10th, the Architecture Department at Tishk International University prepared a trip to Korek Mountain and Shenglbana Park, for the Fourth Year Students. The Trip was headed by Dr. Hassan Hasson. Dr. Hassan Hasson and the students left the university at 8:30 AM, and Arrived at Shenglbana Park at 10:00 AM the students start playing around and enjoying their time in the amusement park there. On Monday, 27th November, the Head of Architecture Department,  Miss Soma A. Kareem, hosted a farewell reception for the academic staff, where the department had to farewell three of its Research Assistants. The Head of Architecture Department invited the Dean of Engineering Faculty, Dr. Halit Vural, and all the academics of the department over for lunch, and also the former Research Assistants that the reception was held for to appreciate their effort and the time they spent in Tishk International University.  After lunch, Dr. Halit Vural, Miss Soma A. Kareem and the rest of the academics shared a laugh during dessert in remembrance of the services of the former Research Assistants, thereafter they received certificates of appreciation from the Dean of Engineering Faculty [...]

On Thursday, April 20th 2017, at 12:00, the Dean of Engineering Faculty, Dr. Khaled Wooral, and Dr. Zeynel Polat gathered the volunteering academics and students for the activity of (Caring for the Orphans) in the Spring Festival of Language, Culture and Science that was held on April 12th 2017 at Tishk International University in Erbil, in order to recognize their outstanding contributions to the mentioned activities. On Wednesday, April the 5th, at 15:30, the Dean of Engineering Faculty, Dr. Halit Vural, the Head of Architecture Department, Ms. Soma A. Kareem, the Head of Civil Engineering Department, Mr. Barham Haidar Ali, the Head of Interior Design Department, Mr. Haval Sami, the Head of Computer Engineering Department, Mr. Safwan Mawlood, and the Head of Information Technology Department, Mr. Savriddin Khalil gathered along with the academics of the engineering faculty to celebrate the success of the IEC 2017 and to recognize the efforts of the Technical Committee that made the conference as successful as it was.   On Wednesday, March the 29th, the head of Architecture Department, Mrs. Soma A. Kareem, gathered with the teaching assistants and students in Hall 201, to celebrate and recognize the exhibition committee's volunteers effort and success for the Art Exhibition in December. And handed them appreciation certificates for their volunteering work. Seating for the academics was provided with sweets and drinks as Rawaz Tahir was the host of the ceremony, calling out the head of department to award the academics who took part in making the exhibition a success. The Architecture Department of Tishk International University held a lunch outside the campus at an oriental restaurant. The head of department, Mrs. Soma Abdulsalam Kareem, organized and suggested the idea. The event was a friendly gesture, to gather the academics of the architecture department for a lunch outside the university, aiming to break the routine of the long working hours and to celebrate the end of the first semester. Mrs. Soma A. Kareem, personally called the full-time academics of the department, and the dean of the Engineering Faculty, Dr. Halit Vulat, to invite them join the lunch. On December 22, 2016 the academic staff gave an introduction seminar to the first year student of the Architecture Department. The seminar was meant to give the students an overview of Architecture and how the Tishk International University system works, in order to provide students the necessary knowledge. Furthermore the future architects received a motivating welcome speech by Dr. Halit Vural, Dean of Engineering and Mrs. Soma Kareem, Head of Architecture Department.
