A field trip was arranged for second-year students of the Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU) on May 15th, 2024, to visit the KAR refinery in Kawrgosk. The trip offered students a practical perspective on refinery operations, which improved their comprehension of industrial processes in the petroleum industry.
Students were greeted at the reception upon their arrival and issued industrial safety clothing. The industrial safety director provided critical guidance regarding the refinery’s safety protocols. The tour commenced at the refinery’s control building, where a comprehensive diagram illustrated the production process’s various stages. The students were provided with a comprehensive overview of the refining process by an engineer from KAR refinery, who elucidated each step and operational condition. Students were directed through the various industrial units subsequent to the initial briefing. The engineer in charge provided a more detailed explanation of the industrial processes, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the refinery’s operations.
