TIU Welcomes HIWA Institute Students

In continuation of the collaborative efforts between the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU) and HIWA Institute for Mute and Deaf, a special trip was organized on March 4th, 2024, as part of TIU’s Social Community Project Programs.

Led by Mr. Omar Azad and Ms. Shaima Hamza, faculty members of the department, the trip aimed to provide entertainment and educational opportunities for approximately 200 students and staff from the institute.

The program commenced with outdoor sports activities at TIU’s soccer field, where young students engaged in recreational games, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and enjoyment. Simultaneously, older students were escorted to the Faculty of Dentistry, where they participated in beneficial presentations and seminars focusing on dental health care. A guided tour of the facilities provided further insights into dental hygiene practices.

Following the informative sessions, all participants were treated to a delicious lunch, generously sponsored by donations from TIU’s 4th-grade Petroleum and Mining Engineering students, supplemented by contributions from the Faculty of Dentistry.

To facilitate transportation, TIU arranged two buses to transport the students and staff from the institute to the university, ensuring a smooth and convenient experience for all involved.

This collaborative initiative, now in its fourth year, exemplifies TIU’s commitment to social community projects and inclusive educational practices.
