The Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department at Tishk International University participated in the SPE Summit at American University of Iraq, Sulaimaniyah (AUIS), organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) – Kurdistan Section on 12 February 2026. On 10 February 2026, the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department at Tishk International University welcomed the President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Mr. Olivier Houzé, during his official visit to Iraq. The visit formed part of the SPE leadership tour to the Kurdistan Region and highlighted the active role of the TIU SPE Student Chapter. On February 27, 2025, the Drilling Fluid Competition was successfully held at Tishk International University (TIU). The event was a collaborative effort by the TIU Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Student Chapter, the SPE Northern Iraq Section, and Pulsar Petroleum Company.
