On December 9, 2024, the Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering at Tishk International University organized a geological field trip for second-grade students. The excursion took place along the road from Erbil to Shaqlawa, focusing on exposing students to the geological structures along the route. A scientific geological trip was organised on May 23rd, 2024, in accordance with the annual plan of the Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU) for the academic year 2023-2024. The Shaqlawa district, located to the east of Erbil City, was the destination of this trip, which was organised for first-year students.
