On 7 December 2025, the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department (PAME) at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a welcoming ceremony and orientation program for newly admitted first-grade students.
The event began with a welcome speech by the Head of the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Fadhil Ali, who highlighted the department’s vision, academic standards, and expectations for the new academic journey. This was followed by a welcoming address delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Bayan Salim, who emphasized the importance of student engagement, academic commitment, and effective use of university resources.
Following the opening speeches, an orientation session was conducted by Mr. Ibrahim Fatih and Mr. Omar Azad, members of the department’s academic staff. The session introduced students to TIU and PAME regulations, examination systems, academic requirements, and the overall curriculum structure. Students were also guided on the use of electronic systems, including platforms for lecture materials and the Student Information System (SIS). In addition, the role of the Dean of Students, student activities, communication channels, academic advising system, and the academic calendar were clearly explained.
After a short refreshment break, a guided tour around the university campus was organized. The tour familiarized students with key facilities, classrooms, and laboratories relevant to their studies. The program concluded in a friendly and interactive atmosphere, with participation from several lecturers of the department, reinforcing a strong sense of belonging and support for the new students.
This orientation program aimed to ensure a smooth transition for first-year students and to provide them with a clear understanding of their academic environment at the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department.
