Comparison Between Earth and Mars as Differentiated Planets

The event is open to all departments at TIU and aims to provide both academic insight and open discussion opportunities.

Session 1:

  • Introduction to the solar system

  • Earth and Mars as differentiated planets

  • Comparative description: physical properties, climate, atmosphere, temperature, soil, geology

  • Orbital characteristics and revolution periods

Session 2:

  • Measurement of selected planetary attributes

  • Constraints of life on Mars

  • Forms of water on Mars and related scientific reasoning

  • Interactive discussion and Q&A


About the Speaker:

The workshop will be conducted by a distinguished academician born in 1952 in Karadag, Sulaimani Province. He earned his BSc in Soil Science from the University of Sulaimani in 1975 and later received his MSc and PhD in Soil Physics from the University of Baghdad in 1978 and 1992, respectively. With over 40 years of teaching experience at the University of Salahaddin (1980–2022), he brings vast knowledge in soil sciences, applied mathematics, and bio- and engineering statistics.
