As part of the departmental seminar series organized by the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department at Tishk International University (TIU), an internal seminar was presented by Asst. Prof. Ziyad Jamil on February 11, 2025. The seminar was attended by staff members from various departments, fostering interdisciplinary knowledge exchange.

Fundamentals of Heat Exchangers

During the session, Asst. Prof. Ziyad Jamil provided an in-depth explanation of heat exchangers, defining them as essential equipment that transfers heat energy from a hot liquid to a cold liquid. He discussed both direct and indirect heat transfer methods, highlighting examples such as air coolers, shell and tube exchangers, and boilers. The seminar also covered the practical applications of heat exchangers in industrial settings, particularly in refineries, where they play a crucial role in optimizing energy efficiency and operational performance.

The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion, where attendees engaged in a question-and-answer session to further explore the concepts presented.
