On 12 December 2019, a field trip was organized for 3rd. grade students of the Department of Petroleum & Mining Engineering to Qarachuq Cement Plant, KRG, Iraq near Makhmur Town, Some 60 Km West of Erbil City.
All sections and different facilities of the cement factory were visited and some explanations were given by Engineer Adham from the cement plant. 22 students participated in the field trip and the students were accompanied by Professor, Dr. Hamed M. Jassim and research assistant Shnyar Hussen. The quarry of the raw materials was also visited and some raw material samples were collected and brought to the department for future needs. After tour completion, adequate hospitality was offered to the students and accompanying team.
