On 12 May 2025, the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department at Tishk International University organized a farewell lunch gathering for its senior students in collaboration with the Dean of Students at TIU. The event brought together graduating students, lecturers, and university representatives in a friendly and memorable atmosphere.
This farewell gathering at TIU celebrated the students who will soon complete their final academic year and begin their professional careers. The Head of the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department, Professor Dr. Fadhil Ali, attended the event and delivered a welcoming speech. He congratulated the students on their academic journey and encouraged them to continue developing their professional and personal skills after graduation.
Moreover, Ms. Lavin Kawa represented the Alumni Center at TIU during the gathering. She introduced the center’s activities and explained how it continues to support graduates after completing their studies. In addition, she encouraged students to remain connected with the university through the Alumni Center, which serves as an important link between graduates and TIU.
Many lecturers from the department also attended the event and shared joyful moments with the students. The gathering included a lunch meal and created an enjoyable environment for communication and reflection. Furthermore, one of the talented students performed a song while playing the saz instrument, which added a warm and entertaining atmosphere to the event.
Ms. Ala Ibrahim organized this farewell gathering as part of the department’s annual student activities for graduating students. Through this farewell gathering at TIU, the department continued to strengthen student relationships and support a positive university experience beyond academics.
This activity also supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by promoting student engagement, alumni connection, and inclusive academic community building.
