Engineers and Poetry-Artistic Skills
The Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University, organised a seminar under the title: Engineers and Poetry -Artistic Skills, held on November 23rd, 2022, in the Main Building, Hall 201.
This seminar described the relationship between engineering and poetry, the requirements for composing a poem, and the characteristics of a good and effective poem. It also consisted of poetry reading sessions, whereby the two presenters: Professor Dr. Fadhil Ali and Professor. Dr. Hamed M. Jassim shared some of their written, artistic skill pieces and some composed poems during different eras of their lives.
The seminar was attended by 48 participants from different faculties and departments at TIU. The participants were delighted with the presented pieces and poems and showed evident admiration through their interaction with the presenters.
During the seminar, Professor. Dr. Hamed M. Jassim distributed copies of his newly published Diwan (poetry collection) titled: Reflections on River Banks.
