DNO: TIU Students’ Comprehensive Field Visit

In a stride towards practical learning, the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at  Tishk International University (TIU) organized a two-day exploration into the heart of the Peshkabir (PSK) and Tawke oil fields, near the city of Zakho. Organized by Mr. Omar Azad, Research Assistant, 21 fourth-grade students delved into the operational intricacies of these prolific fields.

On November 28th, the students embarked on a tour of the Peshkabir (PSK) field, gaining intimate insights into the production facilities and unraveling various stages of the oil extraction process. The exploration continued on November 29th, offering an all-encompassing expedition into the Tawke field, including visits to producing wells, gas processing facilities, injection wells, and a special visit to the Central Controlling Rooms (CCR).

The students had the unique opportunity to witness the expertise of special engineers and experts who explained each section of our visit in detail, enhancing their understanding of the oil industry. This hands-on experience amid the renowned Peshkabir and Tawke fields in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq bestowed invaluable insights and practical knowledge upon our aspiring engineers.
