Announcement: International Workshop – SPE DL – 04.04.2024

In collaboration with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Erbil Section, the Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU), represented by TIU’s SPE Student Chapter, proudly announces an international workshop, as a part of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Distinguished Lecturer Program for the 2023-2024 season. This pivotal event, titled ‘Surface Facilities – A Crucial Element in Early Field Development,’ is scheduled for the 4th of April, 2024 at the TIU campus.

We are honoured to host Gaojing (Melody) Cao, a distinguished project manager and surface facilities technical authority from Schlumberger (SLB), London, as our esteemed speaker.

Abstract of the Workshop:

The workshop will explore the often-overlooked yet critical role of surface facilities in the field development and asset management life cycle. Ms. Cao will highlight the consequences of underestimating these facilities during the early development stages and their impact on reservoir potential and asset value realization. Discussions will also cover the complexities of surface facility activities and the importance of sustainable developments in the oil and gas industry.

About Gaojing (Melody) Cao:

With 25 years of leadership experience in the oil and gas sector, Gaojing (Melody) Cao is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Xi’an Jiao Tong University and holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and a PMP credential from the Project Management Institute. Her expertise includes managing extensive onshore and offshore oil, gas, and petrochemical projects.

This joint initiative by TIU’s Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department and SPE Erbil Section is an opportunity not to be missed by students, faculty, and industry professionals.
