The Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department at Tishk International University (TIU) successfully conducted a five-day training program on Reaction Engineering for engineers from North Gas Company. The training took place on campus from June 29 to July 3, 2025.

Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration

This training program is part of a continued collaboration between the department and North Gas Company, aimed at strengthening industry-academia relations and enhancing the technical capabilities of professionals working in the oil and gas sector.

The sessions were delivered by Assistant Professor Ziyad Jamil Talabany, with support from staff member Mr. Omar Azad. The program included detailed theoretical discussions and practical applications related to reaction engineering principles crucial to gas processing operations.

Program Details and Impact

The training comprised two daily sessions over five days, providing an intensive and comprehensive learning experience. The participants actively engaged throughout the program, demonstrating keen interest and appreciation for the knowledge shared.

This initiative represents the department’s ongoing commitment—through its Internship Programs Committee and Industrial Committee—to foster strong ties with key industry partners and contribute to professional development within Iraq’s energy sector.
