TIU’s Engineering Students Visit to MASS – Erbil Power Station
On December 4th, 2023, the Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University organized an insightful site visit to MASS Erbil Power Station, a prominent energy hub in Erbil city. Hosted by Mr. Azad, the Power Station’s General Manager, students delved into the intricacies of power generation. The visit commenced with a comprehensive safety instructions class, ensuring a secure exploration.
Embarking on a guided tour, students explored the Central Controlling Rooms (CCRs), gas turbines, steam turbines, and various facilities within the Power Station. The hospitality extended by Mr. Azad and his team created an enriching experience for the students. Beyond the warm reception, specialized engineers in each section eagerly awaited, offering detailed explanations of their respective areas.
This immersive encounter not only broadened the students’ understanding of power generation but also fostered valuable connections within the industry. Tishk International University remains committed to providing practical exposure, enriching the educational journey of future engineers.
