The Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department at Tishk International University (TIU) announces a specialized 9-day training course entitled:

“Turning Data into Knowledge via Empirical Models”

This training course is designed to enhance participants’ skills in data analysis, interpretation, and knowledge extraction, which are increasingly essential competencies in both academic research and professional practice. The course will focus on transforming raw data into meaningful insights using empirical and regression-based modeling approaches.

The program will be delivered by Professor Dr. Tariq H. Karim, who will guide participants through both theoretical foundations and practical applications using widely used analytical tools.

Course Schedule and Venue

  • Duration: 9 days

  • Dates: From 26 January to 5 February 2026

  • Time: Daily from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

  • Venue: Main Building, Hall 214, Tishk International University

Main Topics Covered

The course will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Introduction to models and empirical modeling concepts
