Scientific Trip to the Bastora Earth Dam
On October 15th, 2023, the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University (TIU) organized a scientific trip for fourth-stage students to the Bastora Earth Dam on the outskirts of the city of Erbil. The visit included the following:
1- A detailed scientific engineering lecture on the design and implementation of the current stages of the Bastora Earthen Dam presented by Engineer Hussein Abd.
2-Engineer Rose Gohar Shafiq provided a detailed explanation of the safety mechanisms and procedures adopted at the project site, indicating the need for students to adhere to them. A safety shirt and helmet were distributed to everyone before starting the field visit.
3- A detailed visit to the dam construction site, where Engineer Hussein gave a deep explanation of all the components of the dam and the current implementation stages.
