The German engineering company AJG has given the Faculty of Engineering the opportunity to send its students to Munich, Germany.

There are two cases that the company is proposing. Case 1 is sending 2 students to Germany during the summer of 2017 for an internship. Case 2 is sending 8-12 students on a study trip for one week.

Case 1 – Summer Internship

Architecture 4th stage students | Civil Engineering 3rd stage students

For 4-6 weeks these 2 students (4th stage) will be working mainly in office with site visits occasionally.

The students should be interested in building and fire safety, structural engineering and BIM. They will be “guided” by an engineer who has experience with people from your country (languages: German and English).

The cost of living is fully on themselves, this includes visa application, traveling to Munich, accommodation, traveling to work, and (health) insurances.

Currently IRO is working with different organizations to enable AJG to pay the regular internship salary of €650,- to the two students. Await more info on this.

Case 2 – Study trip to Munich

Architecture 3rd & 4th stage students | Civil Engineering 3rd & 4th stage students

For one week, 8 to 12 students will be traveling to Munich, in order to get “insight into European planning and design processes”. The timing of the program will be around July or middle/end of September 2017.

The students will get lectures on building, fire and construction safety, BIM etc. and have site visits (mainly AJG projects and projects in the area of Munich).

For a one week stay in the Munich area the cost for every student will be between € 3,000 and 4,000 to be paid to AJG (depending on the exact number of students). AJG will organize of the group flight roundtrip Erbil-Munich-Erbil, hotel accommodation and group transportation inside Munich (except food and beverages). Someone from the university staff might be joining/guiding the group.
