Civil Engineering Department of Tishk International University organized a half-day workshop on Important Architectural and Structural Attributes for Seismic Design on December 17, 2017. The Seminars of the workshop were presented by Mr. Wrya Abdullah, the Assistant lecturer at the University of Sulaimani. At the beginning of the workshop Mr. Abdulrahman Kurda, Head of the engineering syndicate made a short speech regarding the importance of the university’s contribution to the community, especially in an urgent situation to produce instant solutions. Civil Engineering Department will organize a half day workshop on Important Architectural and Structural Attributes for Seismic Design. the event will be on December 17, 2017, in Hall #202 at 10:30 am.    

A site visit to construction site was organized on 6th of November 2017. Before anything all safety instruction where gave to the student. Then based on the plan all student gathered at the university around 1:00 pm and then the site has been reached after half an hour journey by bus. After arrival to the site and meeting with the people in charge of guiding us, a short brief about the project was given by Mr. Hawro Khoshnaw (the contractor) to start the tour around the site. Fourth grade students of civil engineering department held an academic field trip under supervision of Prof. Dr. Omar Qarani with Mr. Twana Ahmed. Prof. Dr. Omar Qarani teaches concrete bridge course, the course deals with how to design bridge elements, such as piers, girder, and decks and how to analyses the moving track loads on the deck and distribute it. Students to be well familiar with the design elements of bridge should see them on field. So professor Qarani illustrated all the components of bridge and designing procedures in the field.
