Civil Engineering Department of Tishk International University organized a half-day workshop on Important Architectural and Structural Attributes for Seismic Design on December 17, 2017. The Seminars of the workshop were presented by Mr. Wrya Abdullah, the Assistant lecturer at the University of Sulaimani. At the beginning of the workshop Mr. Abdulrahman Kurda, Head of the engineering syndicate made a short speech regarding the importance of the university’s contribution to the community, especially in an urgent situation to produce instant solutions. Second-year students paid a scientific visit to IBERIA batch plant under the supervision of lecturer Mr. Barham Haidar with assistant Halmat Muslih. we are welcomed warmly by Engineer Mohammad Nadir who graduated from the department of civil engineering-Tishk International University and he supervises the plant. Summer School in Germany

Two students from Tishk International University-Civil Engineering Department participated in summer school program in German. The summer school was held within the scope of the Mechanical Engineering Germany –Iraq (MEGI) project at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg (MEGI is part of the German – Iraq Academic Partnership program of the German academic exchange service (DAAD), and it was supervised by Dr. Abdulkader Kadauw MEGI project coordinator. the summer school was to improve the students’ knowledge in modeling basics. >Click here to get full report about the summer school in German. 2 Studentes from our department participated in this Event

On Monday, November, the 20th, the civil engineering department of Tishk International University by the supervision of the head of Department, Mr. Barham Haidar, held a welcoming seminar, targeting the freshman students that are enrolled to study civil engineering in Tishk International University. The Seminar was presented by the Head of department and Mr. Twana Ahmed. As they welcomed the new coming students and introduced them to civil engineering, and answered all their questions, and made sure that they would have a comprehensive preliminary understanding about civil engineering and the program they are going to learn. 25 participants (Studentes& Lecturers) are participated in this event

A site visit to construction site was organized on 6th of November 2017. Before anything all safety instruction where gave to the student. Then based on the plan all student gathered at the university around 1:00 pm and then the site has been reached after half an hour journey by bus. Fourth grade students of civil engineering department held an academic field trip under supervision of Prof. Dr. Omar Qarani with Mr. Twana Ahmed. Prof. Dr. Omar Qarani teaches concrete bridge course, the course deals with how to design bridge elements, such as piers, girder, and decks and how to analyses the moving track loads on the deck and distribute it. Students to be well familiar with the design elements of bridge should see them on field. So professor Qarani illustrated all the components of bridge and designing procedures in the field.
