SEISMIC VULNERABILITY AND RISK ASSESSMENT (Workshop Upcoming) An International Workshop titled SEISMIC VULNERABILITY AND RISK ASSESSMENT: CASE STUDY OF IRAQ will be organised by the Chair of Advanced Structures (BUW) and Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University, on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022. The creation of these resources has been funded by the DAAD University partnership with Iraq 2022-2023 program under grant no. 57609522. Neither the European Commission nor the project‘s national funding agency DAAD is responsible for the content or liable for any losses or damage resulting from the use of these resources.

VISIT TO BAUHAUS UNIVERSITY-WEIMAR The Head of the Civil Engineering Department Dr. Barham Haidar, journeyed to Bauhaus-Universität Weimar on November 13th, 2022, for seven days within the framework of a grant program for research entitled Multiscale consequence studies for hazard impact on structures in Iraq, funded by the DAAD in coordination with the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. VISIT TO MU & NTU On November 10th, 2022, the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Barham Haidar and Prof. Dr. Bayan Salim paid a visit to the University of Mosul and the Northern Technical University (NTU) in Mosul city. The visit aimed to confirm and revive the MoU between Tishk International University and MU, and NTU for scientific cooperation. On the start of this academic year (2022-2023), the department of civil engineering has decided to enable the use of the student email system. Each student was given a personal email address under the domain of the university. From now forward, all official announcements regarding department activity will be shared using this email system. Announcements include: time of exams, changes in the schedule, department events ... Etc. The use of this system greatly improved the communication between instructors and students.
