During June 2026, a group of students from the Architecture Engineering Department at Tishk International University, under the supervision of Mr. Omar Azad, carried out a social responsibility project to support students at Hiwa Institute, a school for deaf and mute children. The initiative aimed to enhance the students’ learning experience by providing educational materials designed for visual and interactive learning. The donated resources included human organ models, books, mind games, and educational maps of the world, Iraq, and Kurdistan, helping students better understand various subjects through observation and engagement.
To fund the project, the group organized a Food Fundraising Event on Monday, 11 May 2026, at Tishk International University. Through the sale of food and desserts, the students successfully raised funds that were used to purchase the educational materials donated to the institute.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 1 (No Poverty), the project promoted equal access to educational resources and demonstrated the values of social responsibility, community engagement, and support for vulnerable groups. Through this initiative, the students made a meaningful contribution to improving educational opportunities for children facing additional challenges.
Tishk International University commends the students for their dedication to serving the community and supporting inclusive education.
