On December 9th, 2020, the Architecture Department held an orientation program, organized for the freshman students that are willing to study Architecture at TIU. The program, under the supervision of the Head of Department, Mr. Haval Sami, lasted for two days, in which the Head of Department warmly welcomed the new coming students and introduced them to the Architecture Department.

During the first day, Mr. No’aman Albayati, Lecturer at Architecture Department, presented a seminar in which he explained how the courses are chosen, examination rules and regulations, and general university guidelines. Mr. Younis Ali also led a session where he introduced the students to Architectural Design and answered all student questions. Both presenters ensured that the students received a comprehensive, preliminary understanding regarding architecture and the program they are going to learn at TIU.

The Web Editor, Miss Shahd, introduced the students to the PIS system, the online registration process, accessing course materials, and attending online classes. A tour was conducted for the students by Miss. Tara and Miss. Hema around the university and the main facilities including the library, design studios, computer labs, and cafeteria.

The students were introduced to the Dean of Students on the second day of the program. Mr. Alfer also explained the extracurricular activities that are organized by Tishk International University, including the clubs (art, book, sports, music, handcraft, photography, horse riding) and how students are encouraged to join them.
