Design Class Trip To Rizgary Hospital
The Architectural Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering at Tishk International University, organised a scientific trip to Rizgary Hospital for fourth-stage students. The trip aimed to help students relate to the design course that is part of their curriculum. The visit also aimed to show students how hospitals function as buildings from an architect’s point of view.
One of the staff members at the hospital accompanied the students throughout the visit around several facilities and departments, including the spatial functions provided within the building. As the students toured the different areas and spaces at the hospital, the architectural staff members who supervised and joined the students during the trip explained the design elements of the spaces and the relationship between the various departments. This visit benefited their design project assigned for the fall semester as it helped them relate the theoretical concepts they were introduced to in class to buildings and architecture in reality.
Students learned how to perceive and evaluate hospitals as functional architectural projects and were introduced to the essential design factors that can be applied to their future projects.
