On June 3rd, 2026, members of the teaching staff from the Architecture Engineering Department at Tishk International University (TIU), Mrs. Wafaa Wasfi and Mr. Dyako, conducted an on-site visit to connect with our outstanding alumni from the Class of 2024–2025 who are currently contributing to the prestigious Erbil Cancer Hospital Project.

The university faculty team met with Mr. Yusuf Cemil and Ms. Yara Sherwan, both brilliant recent graduates who have successfully stepped into vital professional roles on the exact same high-profile healthcare project, bringing their academic foundation to life through two different leading companies.

Meet Our Graduates on Site

The TIU teaching staff sat down with the graduates in the site office to discuss their professional progress, practical achievements, and daily responsibilities on the project:

Mr. Yusuf Cemil (Class of 2024–2025):

Yusuf is representing Dismar Co. on the project, fulfilling dual responsibilities as the company’s Site Manager and Facade Engineer. He is overseeing the complex exterior engineering and site coordination for the hospital.

Ms. Yara Sherwan (Class of 2024–2025):

Yara is working on the project through NorthLight Living, where she serves as an Architect and Site Engineer. She is actively managing on-site architectural execution and design compliance for the medical facility.

  • Discussion Highlights:

The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for the faculty members to engage with their former students in a professional environment. The discussion focused on:
Collaborative Industry Roles: Exploring how two TIU classmates are now working alongside each other from different company perspectives on a massive healthcare infrastructure project. From Classroom to Construction Site: Discussing the transition from university design studios to managing the real-world complexities of hospital architecture and site engineering.

  • Academic-to-Industry Alignment:

Gathering valuable feedback from both graduates on how the TIU Architecture curriculum prepared them for fast-paced site management and technical coordination. Inspiring the Next Generation: Discussing future opportunities for current students to learn from their rapid professional growth and potentially visit the site.
