A seminar by UNDP – introducing students to the Innovation Competition on Sustainable Energy 2017.

On Thursday, April the 6th, at 14:00 in lecture hall 202, the Local Area Development Program representatives from the UNDP have held a seminar to introduce the students to the Innovation Competition on Sustainable Energy 2017. The seminar was presented by Mr. Osama Kassamani, and mostly talked about climate change challenges and what people could do for the community if they used energy efficiently and thought sustainably. The Head of Architecture department, Mr. Soma A. Field trip to Shanik Glass Factory

On Sunday, April the 2nd, the Architectural Department at Tishk International University prepared a field trip to Shanik Glass Factory on Makhmoor Road, for the second year students, the trip was supervised by the Head of the department Ms. Soma A. Kareem. Mr. Azad Ahmad organized the trip with Mr. Nawaz Dabbagh. The students and academics arrived to the factory site at 12:00, the field trip was aiming to teach students the procedures of manufacturing glass and building glass façades. On Wednesday, March the 29th, the head of Architecture Department, Mrs. Soma A. Kareem, gathered with the teaching assistants and students in Hall 201, to celebrate and recognize the exhibition committee's volunteers effort and success for the Art Exhibition in December. And handed them appreciation certificates for their volunteering work. Seating for the academics was provided with sweets and drinks as Rawaz Tahir was the host of the ceremony, calling out the head of department to award the academics who took part in making the exhibition a success. The Art exhibition couldn't have happened without the hard work of the volunteers. DA 12 -Appreciation certificates .

Department’s lunch

The Architecture Department of Tishk International University held a lunch outside the campus at an oriental restaurant. The head of department, Mrs. Soma Abdulsalam Kareem, organized and suggested the idea. The event was a friendly gesture, to gather the academics of the architecture department for a lunch outside the university, aiming to break the routine of the long working hours and to celebrate the end of the first semester. Mrs. Soma A. Kareem, personally called the full-time academics of the department, and the dean of the Engineering Faculty, Dr. Halit Vulat, to invite them join the lunch. Tishk International University and Erbil Polytechnic University hosted the 3rd International Engineering Conference on Development in Civil & Computer Engineering Applications on February 26 and 27, 2017. The aim of the conference was to disseminate research findings and provide a platform for scholars to debate and exchange ideas on the developments in the field of engineering.
